The charitable vehicle responsible for initiating, administering and implementing the visions and goals of Lula Isandla is the Lula Isandla Trust (“the Trust”).
The Trust was established in 2010 as a result of the continued success and growth of Lula Isandla and the resultant need to establish a formal charitable vehicle.
The Trust is presently in the process of registering as a non-profit organization (NPO) with the South African Department of Social Development and as a public benefit organization (PBO) with SARS which will allow it and potential donors to enjoy section 18A Tax Exempt Status.
The purpose of the Trust is primarily to provide support to vulnerable and abandoned children in underprivileged communities which support includes but is not limited to collecting and receiving donations from other charitable persons and using such donations for the facilitation of caring for and feeding, deprived, abandoned, abused, neglected, orphaned or homeless children and secondly to work in collaboration with other charitable organisations that provide support to vulnerable and abandoned children in underprivileged communities.
The Board of Trustees approves strategic direction and policy, whilst the Lula Isandla Management Team are responsible for the execution of strategy, policy and the daily affairs of Lula Isandla.
