What happens in May in KwaZulu Natal? Well, the Lula Isandla fun run of course. Set in the picturesque climes of Mpophomeni, managed by the tireless Bonginkosi, the participants make their way through the suburbs from which the children of Lula Isandla arise, running alongside one of the elder members of the community.
What makes the 2011 edition of the fun run exciting is the presence of Bruce Fordyce. Yes, the great man himself, who will be meandering between KZN's two biggest cities the very next day will be joining us at the Zenzeleni community center to warm up for that meander.
Quite rad I thought.
Simon and Bonginkosi have coordinated the event, and we have a route with marshals, and a bunch of excited kids and running enthusiasts. What would be great is to have a t-shirt or two to dish out, so if you have 250 spare t-shirts let me know!
If you are in KZN for the Comrades, or just popping down to meander the midlands, please join us for a trundle through Mpophomeni, and meet up with the people who make it all possible.
The full story and photographs will be distributed after the event. Watch this space.
Kind regards, Timothy

The LI Social Network
The annual / monthly / weekly newsletter is proving to be a bit infrequent, and irregular.
In the interests of keeping the people who help make this project possible informed, we are creating a Facebook and a Twitter account.
These will hopefully be updated more frequently and will provide you with more regular info. They are currently a work in progress.
